Kingston upon Thames Kingston upon Thames The town’s Memorial Gardens has reopened after an extensive redevelopment project which marks the beginning of a new chapter in one of Kingston’s most beloved public places.
The project is managed through Blakedown Landscapes, in collaboration with the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames and Kingston First, the scheme has transformed the gardens into a cleaner and more accessible, more inviting environment, while also preserving its historical style.

Honouring Heritage
The War Memorial, a focal feature of the gardens, is now situated within an updated arrangement of granite setts as well as Yorkstone paving, increasing its beauty and visibility. The paths have been revamped to make it easier for visitors and the lighting has been upgraded to ensure the memorial is a secure and well-known landmark.
A Space for Nature and People
The new regeneration brought perennial planting beds, lawns that are rich in species, and trees that were newly planted to create seasonal color as well as habitat for animals. informal seating areas have been constructed, giving visitors and residents a chance to relax and take in the surroundings.
