Wicked London even more casting details for Wicked have been revealed following earlier casting confirmations by Ethan Slater, Michelle Yeoh, and Jeff Goldblum! With SNL breakout star Bowen Yang taking on the role of Pfannee and UK-based performer Bronwyn James (The Dig) as Shiz University student ShenShen, LA-based Marissa Bode will play Nessarose, Elphaba’s sister.
Colin Michael Carmichael (Snow White) joins Keala Settle (The Greatest Showman) and Aaron Teoh (But I’m a Cheerleader: The Musical) in the role of Miss Coddle. Wicked tells the story of two unlikely university friends who travel to Oz and become Glinda The Good and Wicked Witch of the West, respectively, based on Gregory Maguire’s bestseller.
20th Anniversary on Broadway
Alongside having its 20th anniversary celebration on Broadway the show has been watched by over 11 million viewers in the West End. 2025 and Christmas 2024 will be the premiere dates of Universal Pictures’ two-part film. Stephen Schwartz wrote the score for Wicked London and Winnie Holzman wrote the script.
It will also be an Top Musical of All Time UK tour scheduled for 2023 in the latter part of the year which means that watching it live on stage will likely be easier than watching it in a cinema!
