With four famous faces stepping into the workroom, The Great British Sewing Bee returns for a special Christmas 2022 episode.
Natalie Cassidy of EastEnders and Johannes Radebe of Strictly Come Dancing are among the contestants for this Christmas’s show.
Esme Young and Patrick Grant will return as judges for the 2022 specials, hosted by Sara Pascoe.
How does the Sewing Bee work? Where does it take place?
What is the location of The Great British Sewing Bee?
In London’s Docklands, The Chainstore on Trinity Buoy Wharf was the setting for series eight of The Great British Sewing Bee.
A Christmas special and New Year’s special were also shot here, which is connected to London’s only lighthouse and was built in 1854.
On its website, the Chainstore describes itself as a ‘Grade II listed brick building with triple height ceilings and plenty of character’ – perfect for the Sewing Bee.
I enjoyed spending time at the venue,’ said Patrick Grant. Sunrises and sunsets were spectacular every morning when we arrived on set just before 7am. Sewers can’t help but be inspired when they have a stunning view of the Thames from their sewing room. I had a great time shooting there.
It has previously been filmed at Metropolitan Wharf in Wapping and 47-49 Tanner Street in Bermondsey, the same location as Dragon’s Den.

This character has been played by the actress since 1993.
