Drug Driving Manchester: Several hours after a lorry overturned, a man was arrested on suspicion of drug driving There were large pieces of wreckage left behind after a lorry overturned near Wigan’s motorway link road. The M6 and M58 motorways’ Orrell Interchange was closed this morning (November 26) because of an incident that involved police.
After hitting the bridge, the vehicle was flipped over on the westbound carriageway around 4.45am. It is believed that the driver was on alcohol at the time of the crash.
Police are still in custody of the driver as of this evening. A crash has stopped motorists from making use of this interchange. Orrell Interchange between the M6 southbound and the M58 westbound.

At the Orrell Interchange, a lorry was overturned news updated by North West Motorway Police few hours ago. The victim suffered horrendous injuries after he was slashed with a Stanley knife while screaming ‘I’ll kill you’
As soon as the lorry was recovered this evening, emergency resurfacing work was carried out. Resurfacing will continue throughout the night on the road, according to reports.
There is no route between the east and west sides of Orrell Interchange (M6sb/A577 to the M58) due to an RTC, a North West Motorway Police spokesperson said on Twitter. In order to complete recovery and repairs, this will likely be the case throughout the morning.

A spokesperson for National Highways North West said on Twitter today: “The recovery of the lorry on the M6 roundabout J26 is complete, but emergency resurfacing is required.” In an update issued on Twitter, a spokesperson said: “The driver is uninjured but has been arrested for drug driving in Manchester.”
It’s not yet feasible to connect to it via M58 west via it’s location on the M6 south. If you’re headed to Liverpool then you’ll need to travel on the A580 West to J23 or M62 West to J21A. M62 West to J21A.
