Wicked London even more casting details for Wicked have been revealed following earlier casting confirmations by Ethan Slater, Michelle Yeoh, and Jeff Goldblum! With SNL breakout star Bowen Yang taking on the role of Pfannee and UK-based performer Bronwyn James (The Dig) as Shiz University student ShenShen, LA-based Marissa Bode will play Nessarose, Elphaba’s sister.
Colin Michael Carmichael (Snow White) joins Keala Settle (The Greatest Showman) and Aaron Teoh (But I’m a Cheerleader: The Musical) in the role of Miss Coddle. Wicked tells the story of two unlikely university friends who travel to Oz and become Glinda The Good and Wicked Witch of the West, respectively, based on Gregory Maguire’s bestseller.
20th Anniversary on Broadway
Besides celebrating its 20th anniversary on Broadway, it has been seen by 11 million people in the West End. Christmas 2024 and 2025 will be the release dates for Universal Pictures’ two-part film. Stephen Schwartz wrote the score for Wicked London and Winnie Holzman wrote the book.
There will also be a Top Musical of All Time UK tour in late 2023, so seeing it on stage will probably be more convenient than in the cinema!
