Featuring a spectacular program of shows, events, and attractions for the upcoming year, Blackpool has released its brand new guide for 2023. An illustrated Blackpool Destinations Guide 2023 celebrates the 160th anniversary of the majestic North Pier in Blackpool, with stunning photography, charting its history since 1863, when more than 20,000 people walked along its wooden boardwalk. The following highlights are also included:
Big Cat
Introducing the new ‘big cat’ facility at Blackpool Zoo, a new £1.5 million facility that will give guests a chance to see lions and tigers both indoors and outside. As of 2023, there will also be a brand new four-star Holiday Inn, a multi-screen cinema with one of the largest IMAX screens in the UK, a family entertainment center on the Golden Mile, and the much-anticipated opening of Showtown, a museum dedicated to the history of entertainment in Blackpool.
World Class Events
A sneak peek at the resort’s multi-million pound events programme including some firm favorites such as Pride, Air Show Weekend, Rebellion Punk Festival, Ride The Lights, World Fireworks Championship Blackpool, Light pool Festival, Illuminations Switch-On weekend and Christmas By The Sea. Many of the events are free and 2022 saw the Air Show weekend attract 250,000 visitors!
Blackpool Pleasure Beach Grand Theatre
With a fantastic line-up of performances at a variety of venues, including Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Grand Theatre, Winter Gardens and Grand Theatre, you can make a reservation in advance. There are already a number of shows announced: Mamma Mia!, Six, SpongeBob, Greatest Days (the musical about Take That), Annie, Everyone’s Talking About Jamie, Shrek, Rocky Horror Show, Mousetrap, Titanic, Winnie The Pooh, a musical adaptation of Winnie The Pooh, and Amore, Amor, Amour, a spectacular new production from Hot Ice.

This year the world famous Blackpool Illuminations will shine every night until the 2nd January 2023 with this epic display stretching over 6 miles!
