It’s been an entire week of pure royal chaos. Is Meghan Duchess of Sussex going to Britain in the end?
USA Today has confirmed that the duchess, 44years old, is not attending any official events held in the United Kingdom this week, although it’s not clear whether she and spouse Prince Harry are planning to have a meeting with Prince Charles as well as other family members in private.
British media, including The Telegraph reported that the duchess is indeed heading for Britain. U.K. Meghan’s team refused to comment when asked by USA Today.
Meghan along with her Sussex youngsters, Archie, 7, and Lilibet, five, were initially scheduled to travel to London along with Harry earlier in the week. After a disagreement with Harry’s security team, Harry’s staff declared on July 4th that she will not be traveling with Harry for the London part of his visit. The arrangements for the remainder of the trip are in the process of being negotiated, a representative for the Sussexes informed USA Today that day.
Harry has had his security lowered after he stepped down as working royal in the year 2020. He and his family are not eligible anymore for security benefits funded by tax payers. Harry has expressed numerous times his concern regarding their safety and even lost an appeal to overturn the ruling in a British court.
After his engagements at London, Harry headed north to Birmingham and is set to return to Warwickshire to attend charity events and is planning this year’s Invictus Games, an international sporting event that is open to wounded and wounded veterans and military personnel. Harry started in 2014.
Harry might be grateful for a visit from his family members after arriving in London on his own, having been denied lodging within Buckingham Palace and the loss of his privacy lawsuit in the case of Associated Newspapers, publisher of the Daily Mail.
In 2020 Meghan as well as Harry stepped away from the limelight and departed London to start a new chapter in California which is Meghan’s home state. Since that time relations with their royal families have drastically declined.
Harry’s trip back home was filled with optimism that Britain as well as the rest of the world could see the beginnings of a reconciliation between the Sussexes as well as the rest of the royal family following six years of broken relations. The king hasn’t visited his grandchildren in four years, and Meghan hasn’t been in the country since September 2022 at the funeral of Queen Elizabeth.
Harry has seen only Harry’s brother Prince William Harry, just a few times in the past four years. Harry hasn’t been in contact with his dad since the beginning of September.
